Some note Flumo as a label which is constantly experimenting with sounds brought forward by new, unknown souls, and this release is no different – in a sense of bringing a new individual with new ideas to its roster, and his name is Jo Pariota.
Art of Plasm begins with the type of groove that introduces a consistent, fluid atmosphere... the type of atmosphere that one needs when entering a club, atmosphere that will bring the dancer to the floor. With distorted pads and looped vocal phrases it creates an easily responsive vibe, something easy to move to.
The beat intensifies with the second track – Casolla. Muffled bass, swinging highs and Detroit influenced synths exert such intense rhythm that no t to dance isn’t even an option. Packed warehouses, late night car rides or even lone home listening can all be accommodated by this chillingly groove laden track.
Our Jo Pariota package is closed with the title track, The Second Room on the Right, one that mixes elements of both the previous tracks to create a deeper flowing collage of distorted synths, basslines and chirpy hi-hats. It’s not too fast, nor is it too slow, but just the right speed for that late night last track.
